Smart energy storage capable of providing energy flexibility services

JSC EDIS Lab together with its partner JSC Elinta is implementing the project “Smart energy storage capable of providing energy flexibility services” during which a new innovative product with high added value will be created through R&D activities.

The goal of the project is to create a smart and quick-payback electricity storage device. This can only be achieved by implementing a smart energy flow management and storage solution that would allow efficient use of all available energy resources. However, these energy resources can be used not only for your own needs, but also to contribute to the balancing of the network. In 2025, 1512MW of electricity need is expected for energy balancing in the Baltic market. The group of devices created would have the opportunity to become part of the balancing system and thus bring additional benefits to the owners of the systems, so the system would become an extremely quickly paying off energy storage device for the homes of household users or small businesses not only in Lithuania, but also in other countries.The creation of this intelligent and complex product would contribute to the successful transformation of the energy system, which requires new technologies to ensure sustainable and safe energy demand satisfaction. The developed product would contribute to the following future energy features: decarbonization, efficiency, resilience, flexibility and digitization.
