Smart energy storage capable of providing energy flexibility services

UAB Elinta, in partnership with UAB EDIS Lab, is implementing the project 'Smart Energy Storage for Grid Flexibility Services'. Through dedicated R&D activities, the project will result in a new, high added-value innovative product

Project Duration

06/2024 – 06/2026

Project Value

793 585,96 Eur

EU Funding

525 427,80 Eur

Project Objective

The objective is to develop a smart and rapid-payback energy storage device. This is achieved through an intelligent energy flow management and storage solution that optimizes all available energy resources. Beyond self-consumption, these resources can contribute to grid balancing. With a projected 1,512 MW balancing demand in the Baltic market by 2025, a fleet of these devices will have the capacity to function as part of the balancing system. This creates additional value for system owners, making it a fast-payback solution for residential households and small enterprises, both in Lithuania and internationally.

Contribution to Energy Transformation

Developing this complex, smart product supports the successful transformation of the energy system. The technology ensures a sustainable and secure energy supply, aligning with the core pillars of future energy: decarbonization, efficiency, resilience, flexibility, and digitalization.
